Agon Mite is a software distribution for the Agon Light™ 8 bit computer. You can conveniently use it as the contents of your sd card, instead of having to download everything separately time and time again. Each distro release involves the manual discovery and curation of software followed by an automated process whereby package files serve as the input to produce a file system suitable for your sd card. The amazing software list by sabotrax has been an inspiration.

The release cycle happens every month of the year, following the common YY.MM convention as versioning scheme. Additionally, any amount of point releases might happen each month to fix issues or add important software missing in previous releases. Downloading a new release is an easy way to keep your Agon Light up to date.

Simply decompress a release file (agon-mite-YY.MM.R.zip) to the root of your SD card. Release files are zipped without a top level folder, so you can unzip them to the root of your SD card like this:

unzip agon-mite-YY.MM.R.zip -d /path/to/sd_card

>PACKAGES

Similarly to Linux distros, Agon Mite works with a database of packages, one for each software released for the Agon Light™ 8 bit computer. The amount of software already available is growing at a fast pace, so there's always going to be some delay until it is available in Agon Mite. There's also some level of curation and discovery involved, meaning not all software is going to be available as a package. If you'd like to see a specific package included on future releases or find an issue please contact me.
